Software Engineer 

Two to Four Years Experienced Software Engineer Required

Job brief 

We are looking for a .Net developer to build GIS (Geographic Information Systems) oriented software using languages and technologies of the .NET framework. You will create applications from scratch, configure and maintain existing GIS software products and provide user support. In this role, you should be able to write functional code with attention to details. You should be passionate to advance your knowledge, a team player and excellent communicator.  

Your goal will be to work with internal teams to design, develop and maintain software and participate in maintenance and support of the company IT infrastructure in cooperation with the rest of the Software/IT team members.  

Responsibilities 

• Participate in requirements analysis 
• Collaborate with internal teams to produce software design and architecture 
• Write clean, scalable code using .NET programming languages 
• Test and deploy applications and systems 
• Revise, update, refactor and debug code 
• Improve existing software 
• Serve as an expert on applications and provide technical support 
• Provide IT support

Requirements and skills 

• Proven experience as a .NET Developer 
• Familiarity with the ASP.NET framework, SQL Server and design/architectural patterns (e.g. Model-View-Controller (MVC), Observer-Observable) 
• Knowledge of at least one of the .NET languages (e.g. C#, Visual Basic .NET) and HTML5/CSS3 
• Familiarity with architecture styles/APIs (REST, RPC, SignalR) 
• Some IT experience (Linux or Windows Server, DHCP, DNS, Apache configuration) 
• Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills 
• Attention to detail 
• BSc/BA in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field 

Additional skills or willing to explore 

• Geographic Information System concepts (Projections, .Net Topology or any similar GIS software library, QGIS, MapInfo or ESRI ArcGIS exposure) 
• R or Python for data analysis 
• NoSql databases/big data storage 

Starting salary will be circa. £25-30,000, depending on experience, which will be reviewed after the initial six months’ probation. Anatec also provide a non-contributory pension scheme (8% employer contribution) and bonus scheme.
